In addition to commercial and corporate matters, an important part of François’ practice revolves around matters of privacy and data protection law. François also has a keen interest in matters of international trade and economic sanctions. As part of his sanctions practice, he regularly advises local and international clients on complex matters involving the Special Economic Measures Act and export controls to assist them in understanding their obligations under these complex regulatory regimes in order to devise effective, practical risk mitigation strategies.
François has also represented clients in matters of civil and commercial litigation at all levels of court in the province of Quebec.
In addition to French and English, François is fluent in Japanese, which has allowed him to act on several internal investigation mandates involving large Japanese multi-nationals.
