Ahmed Selim

Ahmed Selim practices in the area of corporate and commercial law with a focus on ‎mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, secured lending, board governance and regulatory issues.‎

Ahmed assists senior counsel in a broad range of commercial transactions and public agency governance ‎issues. Ahmed also has a keen interest in insurance law, especially issues around captive insurance ‎companies.‎

Prior to attending law school, Ahmed worked as a small business banker for two of the Big Five banks in ‎Canada, and prior to that as an insurance agent for a large property and casualty insurer. During law ‎school, Ahmed worked as a research assistant in the captive insurance law area.‎

Ahmed is a native Arabic speaker and is familiar with business law issues in the Middle East. Ahmed is part of DLA Piper’s Middle East Initiative.

Before joining the firm as an associate, Ahmed summered and articled with the firm.‎
