On February 14, we co-hosted Axis Tel Aviv, which brought together investors from around the world and Israeli start-ups to discuss sustainability and ESG. Jeremy Lustman moderated a panel on Smart Mobility/Smart Cities. Panelists included: Alaa Afifi, VP Global Business Development at Afifi Group (Israel); Marie-Luce Godinot, Senior Vice-President Innovation at Bouygues Group (France); Matan Hazanov, Managing Director at Verstra Ventures (Canada); Nish Patel, Managing Partner at Inertia (USA); Pavel Ezekiev, Founder and CEO at ΝΞΟ Ventures (Spain/Bulgaria); and Tobias Jahn, Partner at Hitachi Ventures (Germany).

At the end of the discussion, four start-ups in the mobility space had the opportunity to pitch to the panel and one was chosen to receive a complementary initial consultation with a legal professional in the DLA Piper office of their choice to help further their global ambitions. We were joined at Axis Tel Aviv by three DLA Piper colleagues: Leo Batalov, Dubai Partner and Global Co-Head of Emerging Growth and Venture Capital; Noam Goodman, Toronto Partner; and Jeff Lehrer, Reston/Washington, DC Partner and Chair, Emerging Growth and Venture Capital.
