About

Emma Mills is an employment lawyer with over 15 years’ experience advising employers across a range of sectors on contentious and non-contentious issues arising from all stages of the employment relationship.

Emma regularly supports her clients on large-scale projects, often international, including restructures and redundancies, contract variations and outsourcing/insourcing arrangements advising on both legal requirements and strategy for successful implementation.

Emma is also a successful litigator and represents her clients in the full range of Employment Tribunal disputes as well as High Court litigation involving high value breach of contract claims and applications for injunctive relief. These claims are often high profile and Emma’s experience in dealing with litigation strategy and reputational issues is invaluable.

Emma works across a range of sectors but has a particular focus on working with clients in the technology, financial services and retail sectors. Her work in the financial services sector includes advising on regulatory issues relating to employees. She gained particularly valuable insights into successful lawyer-client relationships and the impact of employment issues on a global scale on secondment with an multi-national technology company based in the United States.

Emma also regularly advises on senior executive appointments and associated contractual documentation, terminations, and severance packages.

Emma is keen to share the benefit of her experience and regularly leads training on employment issues as well as mentoring individuals in earlier stages of their career. She is also a leader in the firm’s pro bono activities and recently led a training programme for refugees in the UK.
