Conor Houlihan has more than 20 years' experience advising on a range of cross-border and domestic financing transactions, including debt capital markets, securitization and structured finance, real estate finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, distressed assets, fund finance and asset finance.

Conor has represented many leading banks and financial institutions, as well as a range of asset managers, funds, private equity investors and other public and private entities.

He has particular experience in the area of non-performing loans (NPLs) and bank deleveraging having advised numerous sellers, buyers, servicers and financiers on the acquisition, financing and management of NPLs in Ireland and elsewhere throughout his career.

Conor heads up DLA Piper's Finance and Projects practice in Ireland.

Conor regularly comments and provides content on banking and financing issues, including securitisation, non-performing loans, credit servicing, secured financing, security enforcement and related regulatory matters, for industry publications - ICLG, The Banker, Global Capital, Structured Credit Investor (SCI), and Finance Dublin, amongst others.

Seminars

Conor regularly presents on banking and finance topics to UK and international audiences, including recently Smith Novak's 2018 NPL Europe Spring Conference, amongst others.

Prior Experience

Conor joined DLA Piper in March 2019. Previously, he was a partner and head of the Banking & Capital Markets group at a leading Irish law firm, where he worked for more than 20 years, including 2 years based in the firm's Tokyo office.
