Steven Bryan is a Partner in the Corporate Energy and Infrastructure practice with a focus on advising investment funds and corporate sponsors on private and public M&A, both in the UK and cross border. His experience includes power and utilities (including clean energy), digital infrastructure, midstream energy (pipelines, storage, transmission and distribution), transportation and social infrastructure.

EXPERIENCE

  • Represented Brookfield Infrastructure in the EUR3.6bn consortium acquisition of TDF, the French telecoms masts operator, and on its refinancing.
  • Represented Northumbrian Water Group Plc on the GBP4bn recommended public offer by a consortium led by Cheung Kong Infrastructure.
  • Advising Allianz Capital, Amber Infrastructure and Dalmore in the acquisition of further interests in the GBP4bn Thames Tideway Tunnel project.
  • Advising a Chinese sovereign wealth fund on its investment in the developer of a UK initial 400 MW battery storage portfolio.
  • Represented Iberdrola on several U.K. on shore wind farm project acquisitions.
  • Represented a Chinese sovereign wealth fund as co-shareholder in relation to the GBP900m sale of interests in Angel Trains by AMP managed funds to PSP and Amber.
  • Represented Arcus Infrastructure Partners in the acquisition of an 85% interest in A1 Motorway in Poland and subsequent project restructuring.
  • Represented Brookfield Infrastructure on its consortium acquisition, together with Abertis Infrastructure, of a controlling stake in Arteris S.A., one of Brazil’s major toll road operators, for in excess of EUR1bn and in the follow on take private offer.
  • Represented COSCO on the acquisition of an interest in container port terminal Red Sea Gateway.
  • Represented Brookfield Capital Partners on the acquisition of Greenergy, the U.K.’s largest road fuels storage and distribution operator, and the subsequent merger of Greenergy with BG Fuels, a leading Canadian gasoline and convenience retailer, and on sale of the European business to Trafigura.
  • Represented EIG Capital Partners on the sale of its interests in the Gasbol Brazilian-Bolivian gas pipeline to Fluxys S.A.
  • Represented Brookfield on its sale of gas distribution network operator International Energy Group to Ancala Capital Partners.
  • Represented Brookfield on its acquisition of Brookfield Utilities UK, the regulated electricity, water, gas and fibre connections provider, its refinancing and subsequent sell down.
  • Represented Equinor SA on the sale of its interest in the Teeside Oil Terminal and Processing Facility to Total, Eni, and Conoco Phillips.
  • Represented Mapletree on its GBP417m acquisition of 25 student accommodation assets across England, Wales and Scotland from Mansion Student Accommodation Fund.
