Carlos Nuñez named regional head for Latin America of DLA Piper's International Arbitration practice

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Carlos Nuñez, a partner in the firm’s Lima office, has been named regional head for Latin America of DLA Piper’s International Arbitration practice.

DLA Piper is acknowledged as a leader in the international arbitration field, ranked in Chambers, Legal 500, and Global Arbitration Review’s GAR30 as one of the leading global practices. The firm’s team represents parties in disputes arising in a broad range of industry sectors, and advises on both commercial and investment arbitration matters.

“We are delighted that Carlos has agreed to act as regional head for Latin America. Carlos is a highly regarded practitioner who has acted as lead counsel on some of the most important disputes arising out of infrastructure projects carried out in Peru in recent years,” said Kate Brown de Vejar, global co-chair of DLA Piper’s International Arbitration practice. “His wide-ranging experience is incredibly valuable to clients, and his leadership will be an asset to our practice across the region.”

Nuñez has extensive experience in construction dispute resolution and has represented numerous clients in arbitrations arising out of infrastructure concession contracts, PPPs, and public works and private construction contracts. He has advised local and international private investors and consortia on the development of infrastructure projects in the energy, education, health, irrigation, mining, road and rail transportation, water and sewage sectors. His early involvement with these projects means he is ideally placed to advise clients in the event of a dispute.
