Outline: Biodiversity Net Gain

Biodiversity Net Gain guidance and draft regulations were published yesterday, covering the detailed mechanics of the proposed regime as well as specific topics such as exemptions, irreplaceable habitats and the register. While the exact date for the requirements coming into force is yet to be confirmed, they are likely to apply to permissions where the application is submitted from January 2024 onwards (subject to certain exemptions). As a result, our Outline session on 7 December will now be a BNG special, to cover the key points to be aware of ahead of January.
