Access the EU's European Electronic Communications Code on the move

The European Electronic Communications Code (EECC) entered into force on December 20 2018 and was to have been transposed into the national law of each EU member state within two years. It was a complete overhaul and updating of the entire regulatory structure for spectrum and telecoms in the European Union and made significant changes to the regulations on telecoms markets - including by changing the definition of "electronic communication service" and adding rules designed to encourage further network investment, such as by liberalising regulation on "co-investment" schemes and on "wholesale only" networks.

It's a very lengthy document and so to help you navigate it DLA Piper has created the European Electronic Communications Code app. Available on Apple and Android devices, it allows you to access the full text of the regulation on the move and to find - easily - the relevant recitals for each article. In addition, articles from the new EECC are linked to corresponding articles from its (five) predecessor directives so that the you can instantly see what has changed from the old regime.
