About

Sergio Barboza has extensive experience in a wide range of transactional and banking regulatory matters, including formation or acquisitions of financial institutions, issuance of debt and equity securities, and advising on all aspects of banking supervisory issues.

Likewise, Sergio regularly represents financial institutions and corporate borrowers in lending transactions as well as loan restructurings. Clients which Sergio represents include the Inter-American Investment Corporation, the Inter-American Development Bank, Société de Promotion et de Participation pour la Coopération Économique S.A.-PROPARCO, Microvest, Triple Jump, Incofin, Triodos, Root Capital, among others, in several financings.

Sergio is member of the board of several companies, specifically financial entities supervised by the Peruvian banking authorities, and share his practice with teaching Banking Law at Universidad de Lima (Master in Corporate Law Program) as well as in other public and private institutions.
Today, Sergio co-leads the Latin America Banking & Finance Practice for DLA Piper.
