Peter Yim's practice concentrates on domestic and international patent prosecution, intellectual property strategic planning and technology litigation support. In addition, he has extensive post grant experience, including having handled numerous supplemental examinations, ex parte reexaminations, reissues, post grant reviews, covered business method reviews and inter partes reviews.

Peter has more than 20 years of experience in the Bay Area representing cutting-edge technology companies, including one of the largest technology companies in the world, in a wide range of technology areas, including computer software and hardware, computer network systems, autonomous driving systems, debit and smart card systems, electronic commerce systems, medical devices, holography, robotics, semiconductor wafer processing and manufacturing systems, semiconductor chip and device manufacturing and packaging systems, voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) systems, vibration suppression systems and Wi-Fi systems.

Additionally, he has extensive Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) experience. He has appeared in oral hearings before the PTAB and the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences (PTAB's predecessor court) numerous times for both regular examination and post-grant proceedings. Peter has worked on patent litigations across the globe, including actions in the US, Australia, China, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands and the UK. He regularly travels abroad to supervise global patent prosecution, including patent examinations and oppositions in Europe.

He leads a team of 6 partners, 24 attorneys and 6 agents and technical specialists, based primarily in the San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Seattle offices.
