Imran is a Partner in the DLA Piper Technology and Sourcing Group with extensive experience of complex sourcing projects, such as outsourcing and BPO arrangements, and frequently involving projects with a multi-jurisdictional ambit. Imran has particular experience of working with clients in respect of their critical sourcing arrangements, having recently an international financial services client on a major outsourcing of its regulated fund administration services. In addition, Imran works extensively in the technology space, advising clients in particular on agile implementations and deployment of the full range of artificial intelligence technologies.  

To compliment this experience, Imran has also spent time on secondment to internationally known companies in the financial services, media and payments sectors. As a result Imran has advised on a wide range of contracts and developed a keen understanding of the needs and sensitivities of a range of clients, but particularly those in regulated sectors.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a major payment services provider on the critical sourcing of its core networks provision, which involved significant transformative work and detailed regulatory advice relating to its critical supply arrangements
  • Advising a Gaming Platform Provider on a series of connected deals with a major lottery corporation for the provision of a gaming platform, website and application technology, in a complex multi-source environment. This initial deal resulted in the client transitioning from successful start-up to major player in the global online gaming industry.
  • Advising a major recruitment firm on the deployment of a highly innovative artificial intelligence solution, at the core of its new digital offering direct to the recruitment marketplace. This deal involved advising at the very forefront of legal issues surrounding this emerging technology.
  • Advising a major retail bank on the global outsourcing of its accounts payable function and the innovative outsourcing of core elements of its procurement function, in a deal which required innovative solutions to best ensure that the retained and outsourced functions operated seamlessly.
  • Advising a major payment services provider in the negotiation of a critical commercial agreement with a key client. This substantially valued deal involved highly complex financial modelling and innovative solutions to promote international expansion of the relationship and development of new products.
  • Advising a large financial services client on the complex renegotiation of its outsourced print services with an onshore provider, in a long term deal involving multiple technology, property and transformative elements.
