Leandro Rinaldi focuses his practice on strategic litigation cases and bankruptcy matters.

He has a strong background in judicial litigation in the areas of civil and commercial law, with particular emphasis in civil liability, operations involving financial institutions, insurance, consumer issues, real estate matters, debt securities, recovery of credits and contracts. 

His work in the bankruptcy practice includes representing debtors, creditors, and investors in important restructuring cases.

    • Represented a Brazilian shipping company before the Superior Court of Justice as a defendant in a judicial proceeding filed by a maritime cranes supplier, seeking the annulment of an arbitral award and invoking breach of due process of law
    • Defended the controlling shareholders of a Brazilian maritime company in an indemnification claim made by minority shareholders in a 20-year legal proceeding
    • Assisted a Brazilian department store company in creating a strategy to avoid eviction due to non-payment of the rental fees following the COVID-19 pandemic
    • Represented a Brazilian automobile retailer company in restructuring a debt of BRL400 million in an in-court restructuring proceeding, with more than 400 creditors
    • Representing an investor in the acquisition of a Brazilian distressed company in a cross-border matter that involved transactions in Brazil and Spain
    • Representing a Brazilian retailer in restructuring a debt of BLR750 million in an in-court restructuring proceeding before the State Court of Rio de Janeiro
    • Representing clients before the Superior Court of Justice in several conflicts of jurisdiction in insolvency matters
