Aurelia Pons advises French and foreign companies both in contentious and non-contentious matters involving IT, electronic communications and the Internet.

Aurelia has developed a specific expertise in complex technology disputes. She helps clients navigating through contractual liability issues, extra-contractual liability issues and increasingly intricated regulations applicable to the digital products and services.

She regularly assists clients on subjects such as technical intermediaries liability, content infringement on the Internet, distressed digital projects, data related disputes, software and database infringement, liability resulting from use of software AI tools.

Aurelia regularly speaks and writes on those topics.

EXPERIENCE

  • Assisting a leading global network of sports channels in the first proceedings ever launched in France on the ground of article L. 333-10 of the Sports Code and obtained the first French dynamic blocking injunctions for two major sport competitions internationally renowned.
  • Advising an international software publisher and integrator to successfully navigate a pre-contentious situation within the context of a multi-million strategic IT project (negotiation strategy, preparation of letters to increase negotiation leverage and drafting of contractual amendment and settlement agreement allowing safe continuation of the project).
  • Advising a leading player in the financial sector in proceedings against a saas service provider after the failed implementation of an artificial intelligence project.
  • Assisting an international software publisher throughout a dispute in front of French courts, including during technical judicial expertise.
  • Assisting a major actor of the food industry sector in the management of an audit conducted by a major software provider.

Prior Experience

Before joining DLA Piper in 2014, Aurelia Pons worked as an associate in the new technology department of one of the major French law firms in Paris and she interned at the EU General Court in Luxembourg.
