About

Dean has experience in all aspects of commercial real estate, with particular emphasis on development and investment work.

His work includes the acquisition and development of new buildings including industrial units, hotels, leisure facilities and motor dealerships. He has advised on the acquisition and development of solar parks, wind farms and has developed a strong reputation in advising clients on all aspects of electric vehicle charging points.

Dean has advised on a number of multi-jurisdictional transactions and, as a result, his work spans a number of sectors including Energy and Natural Resources, Healthcare, Hospitality and Leisure and Industrials.

Outside of the office, Dean plays rugby union and is a keen scuba diver.

  • Advising National Grid on real estate matters arising from the sale of 61% of its gas distribution arm, valued at GBP13.8 billion.
  • Advising Ramsay Health Care on the acquisition of mental healthcare group Elysium for GBP775 million.
  • Advising QHotels Group on its acquisition via a joint purchase agreement by China’s Cindat Capital Management and UK investment firm Aprirose for GBP525 million.
  • Advising Priory Group on the real estate aspects of its acquisition by Dutch healthcare firm Waterland for GBP1.1 billion.
  • Advising Sytner Group on all real estate matters including the acquisition and development of premium car dealerships.
  • Advising Jet2.com on its acquisition of Hangar 5 at Manchester Airport.

Additional Information

Dean’s pro-bono work includes advising global charities and organisations on the prevention of the illegal movement and transfer of wildlife. Recent examples include advising the Vietnamese Government on implementing changes to legislation to prevent the illegal cross border trade of animals.
