About
Sarah has over 12 years’ experience advising national and international clients across different sectors in relation to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters. Sarah advises on the full spectrum of day-to-day employment issues such as redundancies, employee exits, grievances, disciplinaries, discrimination and business protection. 

Sarah has considerable litigation experience.  She regularly represents respondents in claims brought by current and former employees including for discrimination, whistleblowing detriment, equal pay, breach of contract and unfair dismissal.  

As part of her practice, Sarah advises on the employment aspects of UK and international corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and outsourcings, including advising on transaction documentation and information and consultation obligations.  

Sarah has conducted employee investigations for clients into allegations of discrimination, bullying and harassment raised by employees and former employees.  

Sarah completed a secondment to a large nuclear waste management client.
 

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising an international beverage company on the closure of a UK site, including advice on collective and individual redundancy consultation, the outsourcing of certain activities to a third-party provider and TUPE information and consultation obligations.
  • Conducting an investigation for a social media client into allegations of discrimination and bullying against a senior manager, including interviewing complainants and witnesses in different countries.
  • Acting for a distributor of communication and security products in relation to a breach of post-termination restrictive covenants by a former employee.
  • Representing a supplier of engineering, manufacturing and technical services in a high value claim for pregnancy discrimination and automatic unfair dismissal.
  • Acting for the management team of an international consultancy company in relation to a significant investment by a private equity investor.
  • Advising an international science and chemicals company on the reorganisation of part of its business, including advising on individual and collective redundancy consultation in the UK, and coordinating advice on redundancy consultation across 15 jurisdictions.
  • Conducting an investigation into allegations of bullying and discrimination brought by a former employee of a science and chemicals company against senior individuals within the business.
