Joo Kim has over 20 years of experience in securitizations and structured financing transactions. Her primary focus is on commercial mortgage-backed securities and structured finance products involving commercial real estate loans and multifamily family loans.
Joo regularly represents commercial mortgage loan originators, loan sellers, issuers, underwriters in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) conduit programs, single asset single borrower securitizations, mezzanine loan securitizations, pooled floating rate loan securitizations, and whole loan trading.
She also has worked with distressed structured products, having advised various lenders, issuers, and underwriters in connection with the negotiation and structuring of warehouse facilities and securitizations involving non-performing commercial and residential mortgage loans and REO properties.
Among her other prominent transactions are securitizations involving tranches of taxable CMBS debt and tranches of tax-exempt bonds, and the synthetic risk transfer securitizations with multifamily mortgage loans. Joo also advised numerous loan sellers, issuers, and underwriters in their European and Canadian CMBS transactions.
In addition, Joo has experience in structured finance products involving a variety of other asset classes, including royalty, healthcare, trade, franchise, and credit card receivables, aircraft and aircraft operating leases, and residential mortgage loans.
