About
Ross advises clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious issues across a range of sectors including technology, infrastructure and transport, consumer goods, food and retail and hospitality and leisure. Ross advises on a broad range of employment issues including discrimination, termination of employment, business protection, resolving disputes and trade union management.

Ross has significant litigation experience and advises clients on all aspects of contentious work, from providing strategic advice to manage workplace disputes, to representing clients in the full range of Employment Tribunal disputes.

Ross’s practice also includes advising on substantial changes to terms and conditions of employment, large scale redundancy exercises and TUPE outsourcing projects.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advised an international hotel owner in relation to class action litigation following a mass redundancy exercise as a result of the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.
  • Advised a UK rail company on industrial action across their UK sites reacting to strike notices and assisting with the collective bargaining with recognised unions.
  • Advised an industrials client on the enforcement of restrictive covenants against a number of former employees. 
  • Advising clients in respect of Employment Tribunal claims for unfair dismissal, discrimination, victimisation, harassment and equal pay. Ross assists with all stages of tribunal proceedings including reviewing evidence, disclosure, drafting responses, witness statements and settlement negotiations.
  • Advising on day-to-day employment issues including grievances, disciplinaries and absence management processes.
  • Preparing and conducting training for clients at DLA Piper organised events and seminars.
