About

Fabien Ganivet heads the Litigation & Regulatory department of DLA Piper in France, which today comprises nearly fifty lawyers, making it the largest practice group within the Paris office.

He has established a highly regarded practice, widely recognized by clients, in the areas of Compliance (compliance programmes and risk prevention: anti corruption, anti money laundering, ESG regulations…), Global investigations, and White collar defense (business criminal law - economic, financial and securities-related offences – labor-related criminal law - environmental and health-related criminal liability – press & media).

Fabien advises a broad range of leading companies—including legal departments, ethics & compliance teams, and senior management of major French and international corporations—on the implementation, assessment, and strengthening of their compliance measures (governance structures, codes of conduct, risk mapping, whistleblowing systems, internal controls, training programmes, etc.). His expertise encompasses both the French regulatory framework (Sapin II, Duty of vigilance, among others) and extraterritorial legislations (FCPA, UKBA, CSRD, CS3D, etc.) to which these organisations may be subject.

Having begun his career in the judiciary—first within the Nanterre Public Prosecutor’s Office, then at the Paris Prosecutor’s Office, where he specialized in transnational organized crime—Fabien has extensive experience in litigation, particularly in criminal matters. Together with his team, he assists companies and their executives in proceedings conducted by judicial, administrative, or regulatory authorities (AFA, PNF, AMF, DGCCRF, and others), whether in France or abroad. His expertise covers the full spectrum of corporate criminal matters, at every stage of the process—from the initial investigation through to trial—along with legal & reputational risk prevention and crisis management.
