Thorstein advises on the sale, purchase and lease of (portfolios of) office buildings, distribution and data centres as well as retail space, which to an increasing amount also entails a combination with the legal arrangements for the operation of sustainable energy technologies, such as solar panel installations.
Apart from his client-work, Thorstein commits himself to DLA Piper's pro bono activities. This includes organisation of the Know Your Rights-programme. In this teaching and mentoring project, a group of refugees and asylum seekers are mentored towards better integration and transfer into education and employment, as well as building confidence and self-advocacy to pursue their personal goals. Thorstein's pro bono activities also include submitting applications to the European Court of Human Rights.
