DLA Piper tops the Pitchbook Global and European M&A and PE rankings

DLA Piper has topped the Pitchbook rankings for both Global and European M&A and Private Equity. The rankings recognise more than 1,700 deals advised on by the firm across Private Equity, M&A and Venture Capital throughout 2023.

Contributing to the firm’s success in Private Equity regionally, the firm achieved top rankings in the following:

  • #1 most active Global Private Equity (up from #2)
  • #1 most active Europe Private Equity (for the 6th consecutive year)
  • #1 most active Central & Eastern Europe Private Equity (for the 2nd consecutive year)
  • #1 most active Nordics Private Equity (up from #4)
  • #2 most active Rest of World Private Equity
  • #2 most active US Private Equity

By deal types and sectors the firm was ranked top in the following:

  • #1 most active Global Private Equity – Buyouts (up from #2)
  • #1 most active Global Private Equity – B2B (up from #2)
  • #1 most active Global Private Equity – IT (up from #2)
  • #1 most active Global Private Equity – Healthcare (up from #3)
  • #1 most active Global Private Equity – Energy (up from #7)

DLA Piper was also recognised as being the most active legal adviser for M&A in the following:

  • #1 most active Global M&A (2nd consecutive year)
  • #1 most active Europe M&A (5th consecutive year)
  • #1 most active Rest of World M&A (up from #2)
  • #1 most active Global M&A – Representing Companies (4th consecutive year)
  • #1 most active Global M&A – Representing Investors (2nd consecutive year)
  • #1 most active Europe M&A – Representing Investors (4th consecutive year)
  • #1 most active Rest of World M&A – Representing Investors (2nd consecutive year)

Benjamin Parameswaran, global co-chair of DLA Piper’s Corporate practice, said: “This top ranking by Pitchbook follows recent recognition from Mergermarket of our dominant market position.
