DLA Piper receives Telecommunications Deal of the Year award from the M&A Advisor
DLA Piper is pleased to announce that the firm has received the Telecommunications Deal of the Year award from the M&A Advisor for its representation of Circles MVNE Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Singapore-based multinational telecommunications company Circles Global, in connection with its acquisition of certain assets of Pareteum Corporation and its affiliated debtors. The transaction was led by DLA Piper partner Jamila Justine Willis. The deal will be recognized on March 22 as part of M&A Advisor’s 17th Annual Turnaround Awards.
DLA Piper advised Circles in its acquisition of first lien notes of Pareteum Corporation, as lender of pre-petition bridge and post-petition DIP financing and ultimately in the acquisition of all mobile virtual network enabler assets of Pareteum Corp. and its debtor-affiliates. In addition to Willis, who serves as chair of the firm’s New York Restructuring practice, the core deal team included partners Shmuel Klahr (New York) and Stuart Brown (Wilmington) and associates Gregory Juell (New York) and Nadia Saleem (Los Angeles).
In her practice, Willis advises clients through financial and corporate restructurings. She has extensive experience representing debtors in complex restructurings across industries and borders. Additionally, she represents debtors, distressed investors and purchasers in distressed asset sales and distressed acquisitions.
