DLA Piper enhances Asia Corporate practice with strategic M&A Partner hire in Hong Kong

DLA Piper today announces the appointment of Xin Fang as a Partner in its Corporate practice, based in Hong Kong.

Xin Fang joins from Mayer Brown, where she worked in the Hong Kong Corporate & Securities practice. Xin has a wealth of experience advising on cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and PE transactions with a focus on Greater China and the Asia Pacific region. She also advises on all matters of corporate and commercial law.

Commenting on the hire, Luke Gannon, who leads DLA Piper’s Corporate practice in Asia, said: “I am delighted to welcome Xin to our team in Hong Kong. As an experienced M&A lawyer who speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English, Xin will strengthen our existing corporate offering for our clients in Hong Kong and the wider region. The team and I are very much looking forward to her joining us.”

DLA Piper’s International Global Co-Chair of Corporate, Benjamin Parameswaran, added: “Our M&A practice is recognised as a global market leader, having built a track record for consistently executing more deals globally than any other law firm. We have been ranked #1 for global M&A deal volume by Mergermarket for the last 12 years in a row (2010-2021), representing our involvement in over 7,000 transactions during that time. Xin’s appointment forms part of our Asia Corporate group’s long term strategy to continue developing our M&A practice in the region, and we are excited to have her on board.”
