DLA Piper advises Berry Global on sale of leading automotive supplier

Global law firm DLA Piper has advised Berry Global on the sale of Promens Zlín, to leading CEE private equity fund ARX and the Promens Zlín management.

Berry Global is a global manufacturer and market leader of innovative plastic packaging and engineered products. It bought Promens Zlín in 2019 as one of Europe’s leading development and system supplier of large surface area exterior and interior plastic parts for buses, trucks and agriculture machinery vehicles.

DLA Piper’s cross-border team was led by M&A and corporate partners Michaela Stessl (Bratislava), Miroslav Dubovský (Prague) and Richard Fens (Amsterdam), and included solicitors Petr Samec (Prague) and Sabine Botden (Amsterdam).

DLA Piper´s Client Relationship Partner for Berry Global, Michaela Stessl, commented: “We are very pleased to have assisted Berry Global in another successful transaction and one which helps it to focus on the core business in the context of its global strategy,” Prague based corporate partner Miroslav Dubovský added: “This deal involved complex drafting and negotiations of transaction documentation across the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, but our DLA Piper team, using our vast experience in such cross-border transactions, found a way through every situation.”

“We are delighted to have completed the deal for Berry Global in a smooth and efficient way in such a short time-frame, using our cross-border Industrials M&A sector experience,” said Richard Fens, DLA Piper’s Global co-chair for the Industrials sector.
