DLA Piper advises Scientia Technologies on equity financing

DLA Piper has advised Scientia Technologies Limited (“Scientia”), a technology solutions and services provider to governments, private enterprise clients and individuals, on its equity financing totaling USD 600 million. Technology services relating to smart city and intelligent living solutions in China have grown substantially over the last few years, and this transaction is evidence of the continuation of growth in the market.

Scientia’s principal business utilizes new technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analysis, cloud services and distributed ledger technology to improve efficiency, reduce costs, increase income and improve the quality of life for its customers.

The investor, Hopson Capital International Limited, is a subsidiary of Hopson Development Holdings Limited, which is a listed company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Hopson Development Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries are principally engaged in residential property development, commercial property investment, property management and infrastructure.

The DLA Piper team advised Scientia on the entire financing transaction.
