Jacabed is an experienced trial and appellate litigator with over 25 completed jury trials in federal court and numerous oral arguments before the First and Second Circuit. Jacabed focuses her practice on conducting FCPA, BSA, MLCA and other corporate compliance and government enforcement investigations, as well as developing effective defense strategies in white collar defense cases involving conspiracy, public corruption, mail and wire fraud, and money laundering, among others. Drawing from her extensive prosecutorial and litigation experience, Jacabed has assisted corporate clients with complex compliance-related matters and has conducted internal corporate investigations involving the FCPA throughout Latin America, including Mexico and Brazil. In addition, she assists clients in money recovery, deceptive trade practice, and commercial litigation.

Jacabed has served as the Secretary of Board of Directors for Brideport Carible Youth Leaders (BYCL) since 2015. BYCL is a community-based organization dedicated to providing youth ages 5-18 with educational, athletic and community based programs to help them build the character and self-esteem they need to reach their full potential in society.

Government Experience

Jacabed began her career with the U.S. Department of Justice as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Puerto Rico, where she handled complex drug-trafficking, money laundering, violent crime, healthcare fraud and white-collar cases, among others.

Following her time as Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Puerto Rice and Maryland, Jacabed served as a Trial Attorney for the Capital Case Section of the U.S. Department of Justice, where she assisted the Attorney General's Committee for the Review of Capital Cases and investigated and prosecuted capital cases in several districts across the nation.

Jacabed then served as the Deputy Chief of the National Security and Major Crimes Unit for the District of Connecticut. She handled investigations and prosecutions involving economic espionage, trade secret theft, cyber intrusions, export violations, material support to terrorist organizations, mail and wire fraud, crimes against children, extortion and kidnapping, among others.
