Hilary Remijas is a trademark practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience. She advises businesses of all sizes on trademark matters, including domestic and international trademark prosecution, enforcement issues, and international clearance. She has managed rebranding efforts for major corporations across multiple jurisdictions, covering sectors such as hospitality, fitness, education, food and restaurant services, and others.
Hilary's experience also extends to negotiating intellectual property-related licenses and agreements and managing high-profile trademark infringements outside of the US. Hilary works with local attorneys in numerous jurisdictions on a regular basis to manage prosecution and contentious matters for the firm's clients.
Hilary began her career at a large international law firm, and later joined a DLA Piper predecessor firm, where she also worked as an on-loan attorney for a global food and beverage company and Sears Brands, L.L.C.
She additionally served as the Intellectual Property Manager for a nonprofit organization, the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) until she joined DLA Piper in 2016. Her duties at DANB included management of the entity's trademark portfolio, overseeing copyright and trademark infringement matters involving test preparation materials and negotiating trademark and copyright licensing arrangements.
