Alistair Drummond is a litigator with extensive experience in all aspects of Commercial Litigation. Alistair has sent his entire career, of almost 30 years, appearing in the Courts and tribunals across Scotland.

Alistair has a renowned specialism in Construction, Property and Commercial Lease disputes, and has been ranked by Chambers and Partners as a Leading Practitioner in Real Estate Litigation for the last 18 years. He regularly advises on wide ranging matters including dilapidations, keep open clauses, landlord’s consent, irritancy, lease interpretation, servitudes, enforcement of missives and agreements for lease, amongst others.

Alistair is recognised by his peers and clients alike as having comprehensive knowledge of his practice area and frequently lectures and presents on the subject.

Alistair also has an established practice in construction disputes and works as the Scottish Lead within the market leading DLA Piper UK and International Construction Disputes Practice.

Alistair also has a particular interest and specialism in the regulation of Scotch whisky. He is the co-head of DLA Piper’s Scotch Whisky Practice. He advises domestic and international clients on their operations in the Scotch whisky industry. He advises on all aspects of the regulation of Scotch whisky, including the verification of provenance (from cask to bottle), bottling and labelling, and branding. The Scotch Whisky Practice has built connections within the industry, and combines knowledge of the black letter law with the customs and practice to provide comprehensive and practical advice to clients entering or operating in the market.
