About

Megan is an intellectual property associate with experience in a wide range of disciplines, including biomedical engineering, biomaterials, medical devices, tissue engineering, orthopaedics, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and image processing. Megan aids in the strategic development and protection of clients’ intellectual property portfolios, and conducts due diligence, freedom-to-operate, and patentability analyses, as well as preparing and prosecuting patents in the United States and internationally. She also assists in post-grant matters before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and provides strategic analysis in patent litigation matters.

Megan holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Brown University, and a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. Her research was conducted primarily in the orthopaedics space, with an emphasis on quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (qMRI) and 3D modeling of articular cartilage, tendons, and ligaments. Her postdoctoral work, completed in the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, focused on noninvasive quantitative and semiquantitative imaging of articular cartilage in both clinical and large animal studies. Additionally, she has worked as a medical writer and editor, providing grant and manuscript writing expertise to clinicians and research scientists in a variety of disciplines.
