Federica Bocci is an International arbitration specialist with significant expertise in complex international arbitrations and multi-jurisdictional State Court disputes, representing and assisting clients across a range of sectors including sports sponsorship, energy, construction and infrastructure, real estate and IPT.

Although trained and qualified in a civil law system, Federica's expertise in international arbitration paired with the attendance of specialists courses from the Chartered Institute of International Arbitration (CiARB), has contributed to develop her approach and advocacy skills also to efficiently assist clients from common law backgrounds. She represents clients in ad hoc arbitrations and arbitrations under the ICC, UNCITRAL, VIAC and the Milan Chamber of Arbitration rules, seated in different jurisdictions and subject to Italian and/or foreign laws.

She has seated as arbitrator appointed by the Milan Chamber of Arbitration in a domestic corporate arbitration.

In her body of a strong litigator hides a mediator's soul: in fact, Federica's training as a professional mediator at the European Court of Arbitration, Italian Chapter, also enhanced her capacity to support clients in settling the dispute before resorting the matter to any of the available dispute resolution mechanisms.She is particularly experienced in creating successful strategies for the management of complex disputes.   • Representing a leading Italian energy company in an arbitration based in London (UK) under the ICC Rules against a German group within a post M&A dispute concerning the failure to properly reveal crucial information to evaluate the target company. Value of the dispute: Eur 65 million.
  • Representing a Spanish insurance company in an arbitration based in Milan (Italy) under the Rules of the Milan Chamber of Arbitration against an Italian real estate fund concerning the payment of the insurance claims relating to the purchase of real estate assets. Value of the dispute: Eur 12 million.
  • Successfully represented a leading German supplier of boring machines in an arbitration based in Milan (Italy) under the Rules of the Milan Chamber of Arbitration against an Italian consortium concerning the alleged breach of supply contract. Value of the dispute: Eur 13 million.
  • Successfully represented an Italian company in an arbitration based in Zurich (Switzerland) under the ICC Rules against a Swiss company (SPV) concerning the dissolution of the JV and the claim against the owner of a construction project in Ghana. Value of the dispute: Eur 5 million.
  • Successfully represented a leading Italian energy company in an arbitration based in Rome (Italy) under the ICC Rules against an American energy company concerning the failure to perform an SPA (alleged breach of reps and warranties). Value of the dispute: Euro 13 million.
  • Successfully represented an Italian mechanical/engineering company in an arbitration based in Zurich (Switzerland) under the ICC Rules against a Turkish energy company concerning the failure to perform a turbines supply agreement. Value of the dispute: Euro 60 million.
  • Successfully represented a leading German company in two arbitrations under the rules of the Milan Chamber of Arbitration against the Italian family owner (seller of the target company) concerning the failure to perform an SPA. Value of the dispute: Euro 13 million.
  • Successfully represented a leading Italian energy company in an arbitration based in Geneva (Switzerland) under the ICC Rules against an English energy company concerning the failure to perform an SPA. Value of the dispute: Euro 50 million.
  • Successfully represented a leading sportswear multinational company in an arbitration based in Geneva (Switzerland) under the UNICTRAL Rules, concerning failure to perform a sponsorship agreement. Value of the dispute: Euro 40 million.
  • Successfully represented a German Real Estate Fund in an international arbitration before the Milan Arbitration Chamber concerning the fulfilment of a framework agreement in relation to the sale or lease of a commercial real estate complex. Value of the dispute: Euro 15.3 million.
  • Successfully represented one of the leading Italian energy companies in arbitration proceedings before the Milan Arbitration Chamber concerning price review of gas supply. Value of the dispute: approximately Euro 80 million.
