DLA Piper welcomes Steve Dixon as a partner in the Tax Practice

DLA Piper is pleased to welcome Steve Dixon as a partner in the Tax Practice. He will be based in the firm’s Washington, DC office.

Dixon’s practice focuses on tax controversies and litigation, transfer pricing, and international tax. He has spent the last two decades litigating federal tax cases for both corporate and individual taxpayers, with his clients including Fortune 500 companies in high-profile trials before the Tax Court, the Court of Federal Claims, and in federal district court.

Steve’s practice often involves complex transfer-pricing and international tax controversy matters. His practice is diverse, and he has handled disputes about intangible-asset valuation, statutory interpretation, tax accounting, excise taxes, statutes of limitation, debt-equity determinations, and loss deductions. Dixon has advised clients across a multitude of industries, including consumer products, technology, retail, energy, defense, real estate development, healthcare, transportation, and banking industries.

“With the IRS enforcement budget growing, our clients will need good controversy lawyers on their side. This is especially true for our large multinational clients who face complex transfer pricing and international tax issues. Steve will bring value to our team as we continue to expand in this area of law,” said Alison Maxwell, chair of the US Tax practice.

“Our clients will immediately benefit from Steve’s extensive skill set in large-scale tax controversy matters and renowned legal counsel. We look forward to welcoming Steve as an integral part of the Tax team,” said William Minor, managing partner of DLA Piper’s Washington, DC office.
