DLA Piper advises Renesas Electronics Corporation on AUD9 billion acquisition of Altium

Global law firm DLA Piper is advising Renesas Electronics Corporation on its acquisition of ASX-listed Altium Limited (ASX:ALU).

“This significant cross-border transaction demonstrates ongoing interest in the Australian tech sector and represents a strategic purchase for our client,” said David Ryan, Corporate Partner, DLA Piper.

Renesas is a Japanese semiconductor manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. They provide semiconductor solutions that enable billions of connected devices.

Founded in 1985, Altium Limited is an American-Australian multinational software company, headquartered in San Diego, United States.

“The transaction recognises the deep strategic interest in semi-conductor related assets in the current geo-political environment,” David said.

For the 14th consecutive year, DLA Piper was the highest-ranked legal advisor in the world for M&A deal volume, according to Mergermarket's league tables.
