DLA Piper advises Epps Aviation in business acquisition by SAR Trilogy Management

DLA Piper advised Epps Aviation, a pioneer in the Georgia aviation sector, in the recent closing of its sale to SAR Trilogy Management. The combined business will be rebranded as “Aero Center Epps Atlanta.” Epps Aviation was founded in 1965 by Pat Epps and was owned and operated by the Epps family continuously from that time.

Aero Center Epps Atlanta’s service offerings will include aircraft fueling, parking and hangar storage, maintenance services, aircraft sales, aircraft management and charter. The acquired business has more than 150 team members and a long-term lease with the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.

SAR Trilogy is an Orlando based company investing in aviation, transport, logistics and travel businesses.

“It was a privilege to support Epps Aviation in this important transaction for all constituencies and apply our extensive M&A capabilities to this transaction,” said Jay Tannon, the DLA Piper business attorney who led the deal team.

In addition to Tannon (Washington, DC), the DLA Piper team included partners Saxby Chambliss (Atlanta), Gwen Keyes-Fleming (Atlanta), Jordan Bailowitz (Baltimore), Nate McKitterick (Palo Alto), Amy Carbins and Julia Kovacs (both in Washington, DC), Jeffrey Salinger (New York) and James Bookhout (Dallas) as well as associates Alexis Elder (Short Hills) and Dan Rosenberg and Emily Campo (both in Washington, DC).

William Blair & Co. served as the financial advisor to Epps Aviation.
