With particular expertise in managing complex and sensitive conduct, discrimination and harassment matters, Clancy is a trusted advisor who is valued by her clients for her insight and responsiveness.

Clancy works closely with clients in the technology, financial services, healthcare & life sciences and consumer goods & retail sectors. Drawing on this sector expertise, Clancy provides her clients with advice informed by key sector and market trends. She also ensures clients are proactively updated about changes in the legal and regulatory landscape, helping clients to navigate the complexity of Australian employment law as part of global workforce.

Clancy also regularly advises clients on post-employment restraints of trade, both to successfully enforce compliance with obligations of departing employees and to resist enforcement in hiring. This includes providing both proactive and defensive advice in protection of confidential and proprietary information and acting in related litigation.

  • Advising global technology clients such as Adobe, ServiceNow, Block and DocuSign on the full range of employment issues including investigations, conduct matters, restructures, and employment litigation.
  • Advising various consumer goods & retail clients such as LEGO, Levi’s, and Burberry on Australian workforce management, including performance management, investigations, and employment compliance issues.
  • Advising domestic and international financial services on executive exits, incentive arrangements, and complex employee investigations.
  • Advising various healthcare and life sciences clients on strategic employment issues including reorganisations, post-employment restraints of trade and employee misconduct.
  • Advising an international apparel retailer across the APAC region on the full range of employee relations matters including the investigation and response to allegations of systemic race discrimination and sex discrimination as well as the drafting of requisite employment documentation.
  • Acting for a significant Australian fintech business in litigation commenced by a former executive in the Federal Court of Australia.
  • Acting for various Australian and international technology businesses in claims of unlawful termination, unfair dismissal, alleged breach of Australia’s general protections regime and anti-discrimination claims.
  • Advising an American based global professional services firm on entry to the Australian market, including management of restraint of trade action.
  • Acting for various clients in compliance remediation including engagement with the Fair Work Ombudsman.
  • Advising a global software provider on an investigation and management of allegations of sexual harassment and related misconduct by a senior sales executive at an international conference, including management of related termination.
  • Advising a global information technology services company on employment aspects of a global restructure, including drafting relevant documentation and coordinating local counsel across six jurisdictions.
