DLA Piper advises Legrand in its acquisition of Power Bus Way

DLA Piper advised Legrand, a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructure, in its acquisition of Power Bus Way, a Toronto-based provider of fully customized power feeder systems for data center, industrial and large-scale commercial applications.

The addition of Power Bus Way will enable Legrand to more fully serve the quickly expanding data center market, in addition to industrial facilities, large-scale commercial projects and more, by offering two complementary cable bus solutions. Power Bus Way will become a business unit of Legrand’s Electrical Wiring Systems (EWS) Division.

“Our US and Canadian teams coordinated to provide a seamless cross-border experience for Legrand. It was a pleasure working with the Legrand and Power Bus teams, as well as all of the various advisors on the transaction, and we wish Legrand all the best on the transaction,” said James Fischer, the DLA Piper partner who co-led the deal team.

In addition to Fischer (Short Hills), the cross-border DLA Piper team was co-led by partner Ted Maduri (Toronto) as well as associates Sam Marll (Philadelphia) and Christopher Pejovic (Toronto).

With more than 1,000 corporate lawyers globally, DLA Piper helps clients execute complex transactions seamlessly while supporting clients across all stages of development. The firm has been rated number one in global M&A volume for 14 consecutive years, according to Mergermarket, and ranked as a top five most active VC legal advisor in the US and number one in VC, PE and M&A in combined global deal volume according to PitchBook.
