DLA Piper advises Howden Insurance Brokers on strategic acquisition of Storfield Insurance Consultants
DLA Piper has advised Howden Insurance Brokers (HK) Limited (Howden), a renowned international insurance broking group, on the successful acquisition of Storfield Insurance Consultants Limited (Storfield).
The acquisition bolsters Howden's presence in Hong Kong and expands Howden's offerings through Storfield's specialty in comprehensive asset protection services and tailored insurance solutions to both small-to-medium-sized enterprises and high-net-worth clients. This latest development follows Howden's recent entry into the Japanese reinsurance and retail markets, further deepening its presence in Asia.
The transaction was led by Hong Kong-based corporate partner Heng Loong Cheong, who was supported by senior associate Tommy Lam, and legal assistant Donald Lui.
Commenting on the deal, Heng said: "Tommy, Donald and I are privileged to have advised the Howden team on this exciting deal. We have a strong track record of representing insurance brokers on strategic acquisitions to increase their market share in opportunistic markets, and this is another excellent example that demonstrates our expertise in this field. As one of the largest global insurance groups, Howden continues to demonstrate its commitment to excelling in fast developing markets, and this transaction specifically highlights its vision to expand its offering in key markets such as Hong Kong. We look forward to working with Howden in its future endeavors."
