Veronica Monteiro appointed Office Managing Partner of the Edmonton office

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is pleased to announce that, effective September 9, 2020, Veronica Monteiro will become the Office Managing Partner of the Edmonton office.

A valued member of the Corporate, Real Estate ‎and Pension and Benefits Groups, Veronica has been a fundamental ‎contributor to DLA Piper Canada’s growing and dynamic client base and is often sought after by key ‎firm clients for her strategic legal and business advice.‎‎ Veronica has embraced the Firm's ‎vision of ‎‎being a leading global business law firm and has worked with ‎‎lawyers throughout ‎DLA Piper, both nationally and globally, on numerous complex matters.‎ ‎‎Veronica ‎is also a member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.‎ ‎‎

As an active participant in the legal profession, Veronica was the Alberta Co-Chair of the ‎‎Canadian Bar Association Pensions and Benefits ‎Section from 2011 to 2019 and was the Financial ‎‎Literacy Liaison on the National Executive ‎of the Canadian Bar Association. In September of 2019, ‎‎Veronica became the Secretary of ‎the National Canadian Bar Association Pensions and Benefits ‎Section ‎and in September, 2020 will remain on the National Executive as the National Outreach Officer. ‎ ‎

Veronica will succeed Rachel Hamilton who has been Managing Partner of the Edmonton office since 2013. “We thank Rachel for her strong leadership through some of the firm’s most significant transitions,” said Robert Seidel, “Her forward-thinking perspective has been essential to the continued growth of the Edmonton office and its successful transition to forming part of a leading global firm.”
