Liz Albertine comes to DLA Piper with 12 years of experience on Capitol Hill, most recently as Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03), Chair of the House Appropriations Committee and Chair of the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education Subcommittee on Appropriations. Liz’s concentration has been on issues related to appropriations, budget, defense, homeland security, infrastructure and labor.
In addition, she was part of the small team behind the Congresswoman’s successful campaign to become Chair of the Appropriations Committee in the 117th Congress and served as Chief of Staff in the Chairwoman’s first appropriations cycle.
Outside of the appropriations process, some of Liz’s accomplishments include facilitating House passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act; securing provisions related to rail safety into law; an extension of the Emergency Prescription Assistance Program; and securing Above Threshold Reprogramming for Sikorsky’s CH-53K.
In addition to her experience in the Congress, Liz has state level experience, serving as Legislative Director for then-New York State Senate Minority Whip.
