Three DLA Piper lawyers named to Washingtonian magazine’s list of top real estate lawyers in Washington, DC
Antonio Calabrese, Amy Carbins and Frederick Klein are three of Washingtonian magazine’s top real estate lawyers in the Washington, DC region, as announced in the December 2024 issue.
Antonio Calabrese, Chair of DLA Piper’s Northern Virginia Real Estate practice and Managing Partner of DLA Piper’s Northern Virginia office, is one of the premier land use, zoning and development lawyers in the region. He has been the lead lawyer on mixed-use, transit-oriented projects in Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William Counties, and other major developments, for more than three decades. He also represents developers, users and others on the largest data center projects in the northern Virginia region.
Amy Carbins, a partner in DLA Piper’s Washington, DC Real Estate practice, represents developers, investors and lenders on complex real estate and finance projects throughout the United States. She has been the lead lawyer on numerous transactions in all property types, including multi-family residential, data centers, industrial, office, R&D, assisted living, retail, and hotels and resorts. She also represents various clients, including operators, users and investors, on complex recapitalization transactions, distressed real estate matters, and joint ventures for new developments and investments.
Fred Klein, senior counsel in DLA Piper’s Washington, DC Real Estate practice, has more than 40 years of experience representing offshore, local and national developers, operators, investors and lenders on transactions, real estate finance and workouts, for both borrowers and lenders, and the purchase and sale of distressed debt. He has represented many clients on ground lease transactions, including the restructuring of ground leases where properties have reached the end of their useful life.
