DLA Piper advises Mothercare Global Brand Ltd. on relocation of headquarters

DLA Piper has advised Mothercare Global Brand Ltd on exiting its lease agreement of the former Mothercare Headquarters in Watford, Hertfordshire together with advising on the acquisition of the Company's new headquarters in Apsley.

Last November Mothercare announced plans to put its UK retail business into administration. As part of its restructuring plan, Mothercare required new headquarters and negotiated a new lease at Westside, Apsley. The move is part of the Company's plans to restructure its property portfolio.

Mothercare Global Brand focus on the brand management and design, development and sourcing of products for parents and young children. Mothercare Global Brand operates stores and websites through a network of franchise partners, in some 40 countries, who operate over 800 stores covering Europe, Middle East and Asia.The DLA Piper team was led by Real Estate Partner Nigel Howard, Real Estate Legal Directors Sarah Sprenger and Robert Shaw and Real Estate Associate Laura Darwin.
