About

Bethany Zeimetz focuses her practice on commercial litigation and investigations. She represents corporate entities in an array of commercial disputes and assists corporate clients in conducting both internal and government facing investigations. Bethany is also a member of DLA Piper’s Commodities team and has written articles on contract defenses involving disputes arising from the Winter Storm Uri disaster and the proposed Truth in Labeling bill in Texas. 

EXPERIENCE

  • Successfully defended industrial equipment supplier in conversion action.  
  • Represented national bank in connection with a US$24.5 million loan and security interests for a hotel project in Houston, Texas and seniority over construction liens and alleged "removables" associated with rebuild project; secured partial summary judgment dismissing substantial majority of contractor's claims and secured resolution of the limited remaining claims prior to trial

Pro Bono

Bethany’s pro bono work focuses on various outreaches that include developing policy-change suggestions for the treatment of Unaccompanied Minors at the Mexican Border, representing immigrants in immigration proceedings, and working with the Houston Volunteer Lawyers to assist in seeking guardianships for disabled adults.
