Eva is a Senior Consultant in Litigation and Regulatory Group in DLA Piper Shanghai Representative Office. Her main practice area is international commercial arbitration.

She is particularly experienced in China related commercial disputes. She regularly handles disputes covering areas including private equity investments, joint ventures, hospitality, licensing and distribution, international trade and sale of goods. She has extensive experience acting in arbitrations under various arbitration rules including HKIAC Rules, CIETAC Rules, SHIAC Rules, SIAC Rules, and LMAA Terms.

EXPERIENCE

  • Acting for one of the biggest Korean private equity firm in an arbitration commenced under Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) rules against a Taiwan based big data company related to misrepresentations and redemption right.
  • Acting for one of the top international hotel chains in disputes arising out of a 15-year hotel management agreement against a Chinese property owner in arbitration at Chinese International Economics and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC).
  • Acting for a Chinese distributor in an arbitration against a renowned German company in relation to the termination of a series of long-term co-operation agreements for distribution of retail products in Hong Kong and Macau in Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).
  • Acting for a major Chinese shipping company in London seated concurrent arbitrations pursuant to London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA) Rules against a Middle East-based shipping company in defending a claim of approximately US$80 million.
  • Acting for Korean conglomerate in an arbitration at Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) against a Chinese buyer conducted according to expediated procedural rules. The disputes arose out of alleged off-specification of the petrochemical product supplied under the sale and purchase agreement governed by English law.
  • Acting for a Chinese state-owned petroleum conglomerate in a multimillion arbitration at Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) against a Turkish new energy company pursuant to the Chinese law. The disputes arose out of a drilling agreement for a geothermal project in Turkey.
  • Representing a Chinese technology company in an HKIAC arbitration in relation to a US$40 million dispute concerning development of e-book processing platform and alleged IP infringement claims pursuant to Delaware law.
