Ting is a Partner in the IPT practice of DLA Piper's Shanghai office. She is also Regional Life Sciences Lead for Asia. Her practice focuses on patents, trade secrets and other technology-related matters. She specializes in licensing and technology transfer, life sciences and healthcare related regulatory work, and also handles IP enforcement and litigation matters.

Ting is a Partner in the IPT practice of DLA Piper's Shanghai office. She is also Regional Life Sciences Lead for Asia. Her practice focuses on patents, trade secrets and other technology-related matters. She specializes in licensing and technology transfer, life sciences and healthcare related regulatory work, and also handles IP enforcement and litigation matters.

Prior to her legal career, Ting worked as a research scientist in the National Key Laboratory of Chinese Academy of Sciences and a renowned research institute in Canada. Ting leverages her advanced scientific research background and deep understanding of client’s technical field to routinely advise clients from a wide variety of emerging and innovative sectors, including life sciences and healthcare, chemical, automotive, semi-conductor, information technology, artificial intelligence and new energy.

EXPERIENCE

  • Representing one of the largest Chinese pharmaceutical CDMOs/CROs in multiple cross-border transactions, including an in-license of DNA library screening technology from a top U.S. university, a joint development and collaboration agreement with a U.S. supplier of API compounds, and multiple outbound service agreements.
  • Representing one of the largest Chinese pharmaceutical CDMOs/CROs in multiple cross-border transactions, including an in-license of DNA library screening technology from a top U.S. university, a joint development and collaboration agreement with a U.S. supplier of API compounds, and multiple outbound service agreements.
  • Advising a large Vietnamese conglomerate on a complex technology and IP in-licensing, component supply and services transaction with a Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer involving the Chinese automobile OEM’s electrical and electronic (E/E) architecture.
  • Advising a multinational pharmaceutical company in multiple non-contentious and contentious patent matters in China involving one of its blockbuster products, including patent ownership and trade secret dispute, pharmaceutical patent term extension, pharmaceutical patent linkage dispute and regulatory data exclusivity.
  • Acting for a large multinational network technology provider in the defense of patent infringement actions filed by patent trolls in China, including preparation of patent invalidation advice and filing and other related defense work in China.
  • Advising a major Chinese OEM of electronic devices in a court action brought by its licensor in U.S. concerning disputes on royalty payment and trademark infringement.
  • Advising multiple foreign companies on complex transaction to have its products “made in China” and distributed in China, including preparing manufacturing and IP license agreement, component supply agreement and advising on regulatory issues pertaining to such arrangement.
  • Advising pharmaceutical companies, drug packaging material companies, diagnostic healthcare products and medical device companies on various NMPA regulatory and compliance issues concerning market entry, advertising, product recall and inspection.
