About

Jessica Wilson concentrates her practice on the defense of pharmaceutical, life science and medical device companies in a variety of matters, including federal and state products liability litigation, consumer fraud, medical monitoring and environmental litigation. Jessica has led every stage of litigation, including strategic assessment and planning, motion practice, discovery, expert development, trial and resolution.

Jessica also advises life science clients on research and development, risk management and mitigation, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and other regulatory and compliance issues.

  • In re Chantix (Varenicline) Products Liability Litigation (No. II), MDL 3050 (S.D.N.Y.): Serves as national counsel for Pfizer in consumer fraud litigation involving Chantix, a smoking cessation aid
  • In re Aqueous Film-Forming Foams Products Liability Litigation, MDL 2873 (D.S.C.): Serves as national counsel for BASF Corporation in actions involving claims of environmental contamination, medical monitoring, and personal injury from PFAS chemicals allegedly due to fire-fighting foam
  • In re Covidien Hernia Mesh Products Liability Litigation No. II, MDL 3029 (D. Mass.): Serves as national counsel for Medtronic in products liability litigation regarding Covidien hernia mesh devices
  • Barnes v. Medtronic, PLC, et al. (E.D. Mich.): Argued successful motion to dismiss for Medtronic in product liability litigation alleging that Medtronic's Parietex PCO mesh for hernia repair was defective. The Drug & Device Law Blog reported the dismissal in two separate posts, describing the decision as one of three significant early wins in the mesh litigation
  • In re Viagra Products Liability Litigation, MDL 2691 (N.D. Cal.): Represented Pfizer in product liability litigation alleging that Viagra causes melanoma
  • In re Testosterone Replacement Therapy Products Liability Litigation, MDL 2545 (N.D. Ill.): Represented Pfizer and Pharmacia & Upjohn in product liability litigation involving testosterone replacement therapies; obtained order dismissing all claims against clients on basis of impossibility preemption
  • Rapamune Products Liability Litigation: Represented Pfizer and Wyeth in product liability litigation pending in multiple jurisdictions involving immunosuppressant for use after organ transplantation
  • In re Chantix (Varenicline) Products Liability Litigation, MDL 2092 (N.D. Ala.): Represented Pfizer in product liability litigation involving Chantix, a smoking cessation aid
  • In re Prempro Products Liability Litigation, MDL 1507 (E.D. Ark.): Represented Wyeth in products liability litigation involving hormone replacement therapy
  • Represented large pharmaceutical company in international arbitration regarding licensing dispute
  • Represented large pharmaceutical company in international compliance investigations
  • Represented large medical device company regarding government investigation of manufacturing-related issues

Pro Bono

Jessica is active in the New York office's signature pro bono Special Education Project, representing clients in tandem with the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI). She assists families through the procedural hurdles associated with the Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) process and works with children who have physical, emotional and psychological disabilities.
