Chloe Townsend is a solicitor qualified in England and Wales and is an Associate in the Real Estate Finance team of the firm's London office. She has cross-border experience advising both lenders and borrowers on a broad range of transactions, including senior and mezzanine debt and development and investment facilities.

EXPERIENCE

  • Acting for M&G in relation to a £68 million term loan facility, to be used to finance the acquisition of portfolio of Travelodges across the UK and Scotland
  • Acting for a joint venture formed by KKR and Roundhill Capital to acquire five student accommodation sites with a forward funding arrangement of £175 million
  • Acting for AXA Investment Managers Limited in relation to the amendment and restatement of an existing facility worth £31 million secured over property in central London
  • Acting for Aareal Bank AG in relation to their multi-jurisdictional PRIME portfolio, including various amendment agreements and property disposals
  • Acting for HSBC Bank Plc to firstly amend two distressed loan facilities, then subsequently deal with the redemption of the facilities and release of securities
  • Acting for a joint venture formed by Crosslane and Harrison Street Real Estate Capital LLC to develop four new purpose-built student housing developments in Leeds, Coventry, Portsmouth and Swansea with a combined 1,294 beds and a total gross development value of £125 million
  • Acting for Lloyds Bank Plc in order to take further properties into charge of an existing facility, involving multiple properties and foreign obligors
  • Acting for Signature Capital Limited in their capacity as borrower under a mezzanine facility with multiple tranches, liaising with foreign counsel as well as the senior lender to coordinate the interplay between the loans
  • Acting for ING in relation to their multi-million pound financing of the Gherkin, and subsequent amendments to that facility, including syndication of the loan and liaising with the syndicate
  • Acting for Aareal Bank AG and HSBC Bank Plc in relation to a £250 million hotel refinancing and reorganisation of M by Montcalm
