About

Mara Topping focuses on domestic and international private investment funds including closed-end private equity, infrastructure, mezzanine, credit, venture capital, fund-of-funds, and co-investment funds, as well as open-ended hedge funds and permanent capital vehicles. She represents sponsors not only for their fund formations but also for their internal "house" economic and governance arrangements as well as representing fund investors, including sovereign wealth funds, university endowments, family offices, development finance institutions, and other institutional investors.

Mara's work spans a broad range of sectors and international markets. She has formed private funds targeting investments in the US, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. She provides insight and rigor for funds targeting an array of sectors, including not only traditional private equity but also the acquisition of distressed assets, investments in financial institutions, infrastructure, sustainable technologies and renewables, biodiversity sectors, expansions, reconstructions and reorganizations (including privatizations), management buy-ins, mezannine and credit funds, healthcare, data management, as well as investments which combine both financial and social/developmental returns. Mara's significant track record has made her a valued asset for asset managers as well as investors.

Mara also helps to structure funds which incorporate debt financing from private commercial banks including both subscription line and NAV-backed debt facilities.
