Hannah Potter is an intellectual property lawyer advising clients on all aspects of brand protection (including trade mark and copyright), advertising and IP licensing law.

Hannah works across a range of sectors including Consumer Goods, Foods and Retail and Media, Sport and Entertainment, and in relation to both advisory and contentious intellectual property matters.

Hannah has previously been seconded to Unilever and HSBC, where she advised on various intellectual property and commercial matters. She is also a leading member of DLA Piper's Women in Sport initiative.

  • Acting for a luxury fashion brand in relation to advertising and prize promotions.
  • Representing major global sporting brands and well-known food and beverage businesses in relation to their brand protection monitoring and enforcement.
  • Acting for a leading sports broadcaster in relation to successful orders to block infringing streaming content online.
  • Advising on intellectual property issues relating to one of the largest acquisitions in the UK's real estate and hospitality sector in 2024.
  • Advising on environmental advertising regulation relating to new product launches of a leading manufacturing business.
  • Advising on copyright licensing for a UK charity in relation to their research and academic reports.
