Dr Lukas Patt advises on all aspects of national and international energy law, in particular on energy regulatory and energy contractual matters.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Lukas worked on his doctoral thesis on the storage of electricity from a German civil law perspective.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising BASF on a partnership with Vattenfall for the German offshore wind farms Nordlicht 1 and 2, which involves an acquisition of 49% of the project shares from Vattenfall by BASF.
  • Advising GLP on project developments for logistics properties (rooftop solar) in Germany, focusing on rooftop lease agreements for the installation of PV systems and on onsite Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
  • Advising clients on various energy related contractual agreements, e.g. corporate PPAs, direct marketing agreements, supply contracts, grid connection contracts and more.
  • Advising clients on various energy and emissions trading activities.
  • Advising operators of data centers on grid connection and the implementation of the requirements under the German Energy Efficiency Act.
