About
Olivia practices in the real estate litigation team. Olivia deals with a wide range of matters and provides commercial and pragmatic advice on: - landlord and tenant lease renewals (both opposed and unopposed); forfeiture; dilapidations claims; rent arrears; parking disputes; telecoms and the Electronic Communications Code; break options; and trespass. 

Olivia acts for a range of corporate bodies, private and public limited companies, pension funds, investors and corporate occupiers.

EXPERIENCE

  • A landlord client on a claim for significant rent arrears arising from the compulsory closure of retail premises during the various COVID-19 lockdowns.
  • A real estate investment trust in relation to a long-standing issue with access to and from a client's GBP65 million industrial estate.
  • A number of landlord clients on the effect of a number of Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVAs) entered into by retailers in the last few years.
  • A landlord client (based in the North West) on a number of issues arising from the significant redevelopment of neighbouring land.
Education

    Memberships and Affiliations

    Olivia is a coordinator for Head Start, a DLA Piper programme that supports talented young people who are interested in a legal services career, but for social, economic and/or cultural reasons face barriers to entering and succeeding in the profession. Olivia runs the Pathways to Law (a widening participation scheme run by The Sutton Trust) work experience week across the Manchester and Liverpool offices each year. Olivia is also the Liverpool office representative for Iris, the firm's LGBT+ people network.
