Stephanie is an experienced transactional property lawyer whose strong service delivery earns trust from both her clients and team alike.

Stephanie has acted on many successful high-profile property and renewable energy projects across Australia and the Philippines, with her commercial mindset and expertise in social and energy infrastructure guiding clients to the best possible outcomes. 

Known for both her technical legal expertise and commercial acumen, she is recognised and highly regarded by her clients and peers. Down to earth and intelligent, Stephanie prides herself on delivery, and is a force for positive change. 

Stephanie believes strongly in giving back to the community, having participated in community development programs for education in Cambodia, peer projects organised by St. Vincent De Paul and sponsorship through The Smith Family. An avid runner, Stephanie has also completed a marathon in support of mental health and participated in City to Surf as part of the DLA Piper run team. 

A proponent of continual professional development, with an interest in a broad range of topics, including people management and business psychology, Stephanie plays an active role within the wider legal community providing commentary for Lawyers Weekly and continuous legal education for The Education Network and Legalwise.

Stephanie is a Committee Member on the Property Council of Australia Capital Markets: Global Investment Committee and was previously an Executive Committee Member of Women Lawyers, New South Wales.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising BlackRock in relation to land tenure, connection and access arrangements in relation to its acquisition of battery storage developer Akaysha Energy, including project due diligence on nine utility scale battery energy storage system projects across Australia.
  • Acting for Hydrostor in its development of the Silver City Energy Storage project in Broken Hill, NSW. The project incorporates the sustainable re-use of mining infrastructure (compressing air for generation through a mining cavity) and transmission route from the facility to Broken Hill.
  • Advising in relation to the land related aspects of the proposed acquisition of Diamond Energy, a ‘green gentailer’ with a combined renewable electricity and generation model including PPAs, accredited retailer operations and renewable generation assets.
  • Advising PAYCE on an urban redevelopment joint venture project with Sekisui House Australia comprising a AUD6bn project covering 30 hectares including 6,000 apartments, town centre and retail village, community amenities and significant parklands.
  • Advised PAYCE on its South Village Kirrawee mixed-use development comprising seven residential towers, retail podium and public domain areas.
  • Acting on the M1 Business Park (an industrial community scheme development) in relation to land titling and governance arrangements including with council / public utility providers, and advice on pre-sale contract disclosures.*
